Disability Access

Eamon O’Boyle and Associates believe that the ability to properly utilise a building to its full potential is one of the founding principles of good design and allowing all persons to have universal access to its facilities is key to this.

Disability Access Certificate Applications

Eamon O’Boyle and Associates (EOBA) advise clients on the requirements for Disability Access Certificates, where and in what circumstances they are necessary and how the application process works. All newly constructed buildings or buildings undergoing renovations which require a Fire Safety Certificate must obtain a Disability Access Certificate.

EOBA’s expert engineers have extensive experience in working with clients and Local Authority Building Control Departments in applying for and obtaining Disability Access Certificates. EOBA’s practices engineers are skilled in preparing Disability Access Certificate application reports accompanying drawings and interpreting the statutory requirements for each individual client and their specific projects.

Throughout the process EOBA works closely with clients and their architects to review overall design and objective to ensure that they are in keeping with legislation as well as the budgetary and design imperatives of the clients.

Advice and Consultancy for Architects

Eamon O’Boyle and Associates (EOBA) work in cooperation with architects, providing consultancy and advisory services in relation to disability access concerns in the initial design phases of all building types, and throughout the construction process.  EOBA’s engineers can provide invaluable advice on approach to the building, circulation, use of sanitary and other facilities.

EOBA have well developed inspection and detailing systems that enable designer’s discharge their requirements as Assigned Certifier or as defined in S.I. No.9 of 2014.
