Nicola has worked in the construction and consultancy sector since 2011, specialising in Fire Safety (Part B) and Disability Access (Part M). Nicola began her career in a leading Dublin architectural practice, gaining hands-on experience across planning applications, fire safety certificates and Tender & Construction documentation and detailing before going on to specialise in fire safety and accessibility consultancy.
Nicola holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Fire Safety and has developed a particular expertise in complex fire safety challenges, focusing on delivering cost-effective, buildable solutions, with a strong emphasis on Lean Construction and further postgraduate qualifications in LEAN + BIM. Nicola’s project experience spans a wide range of building types including mixed-use city centre buildings, protected structures, shopping centres, retail units, hotels, large offices, large-scale residential developments, apartment blocks and duplexes, nursing homes, hospitals, arts venues, stadiums, sports centres, and industrial facilities. Nicola became one of the first Disability Access Consultants in Ireland following the introduction of statutory Disability Access Certificates, developing a deep understanding of the functional needs of users through ongoing engagement with disability advocacy and seminars. Nicola is also qualified to act as PSDP with a maintenance mindset and plays a key B.CAR role on projects on site.
Nicola holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from Trinity College Dublin and is currently completing an MSc in Building Regulatory Compliance at SETU. A regular guest lecturer in Fire Safety and Accessibility, with recent engagements at TU Dublin, TU Estates, UCD Architecture and CMG Events, Nicola is committed to advancing industry knowledge and keeping pace with evolving regulations and AI.
